New York awarded most miserable Super Bowl ever.  North Jersey got a Super shot in the arm today, when the National Football League chose the new Meadowlands football stadium as the site of the 2014 Super Bowl at its meeting in Irving, Texas.

Buy this photo The Meadowlands Super Bowl will be first in a cold-weather, open-air stadium. Any other result would have been almost as unexpected as the Jets’ upset of Baltimore in Super Bowl III or the Giants’ takedown of the undefeated New England Patriots in the Super Bowl in 2008.

But for the Jets and Giants owners attending the NFL meeting and for the Meadowlands-area businessmen, who gathered, along with Governor Christie, at Redd’s restaurant in Carlstadt, nothing was certain until NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s announcement.  (Read More).

100 year old doctor still makes rounds.  He’s delivered three generations of babies, and at the age of 100 Dr. Walter Watson still shows up faithfully at the hospital.

“Papa Doc,” as he’s known to many, has delivered some 18,000 babies during his career.

Among his patients is Sabra Allen, 77, whom he’s treated for 59 years. Watson delivered 17 members of her family. “He delivered all five of my kids and 12 of the grandkids,” Allen told the U.K.’s Daily Telegraph.

Worlds worst chimp owner dies at 72.  A Connecticut woman whose chimpanzee mauled and blinded her friend last year has died, her attorney said Tuesday.

Sandy Herold died Monday night of a ruptured aortic aneurysm, lawyer Robert Golger said. She was 72.

Herold’s 200-pound chimpanzee, Travis, went berserk in February 2009 after Herold asked her friend, Charla Nash, to help lure it back into her house in Stamford. The animal ripped off Nash’s hands, nose, lips and eyelids before the animal was shot and killed by police.  (Read More).

10% of married couples (18-49) have sex once a year. 23% report having sex once a month. There’s always that one couple at the dinner party that can’t keep their hands off of each other, pawing, smooching, calling each other “sweetie” and “baby,” while the other wives and husbands try to keep from ogling and turn their attention to the latest neighborhood gossip.

We roll our eyes and snicker, but, really, we envy the love birds. Admit it, you do, too.

Well, now we have some insight, thanks to an iVillage survey of 2,000 American housewives between the ages of 18 and 49. So, try throwing out these stats at your next adult gathering: 23 percent of women reported having sex one to three times a month, while a close 21 percent say they have sex more than 10 times monthly.
