What We’re Talking About 6/3/10

Joran Vandersloot celebrates 5th anniversary of Natalie Halloway murder by murdering again. Aruban prosecutor Peter Blanken, who has been part of the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, has learned that Joran van der Sloot is now a suspect in a new murder, that of a 21-year-old woman whose body was found in a hotel room in Lima, Peru. The prosecutor told CBS News that the allegation was a remarkable development and says that he is personally shocked by it.

Early Wednesday morning, Stephany Flores Ramirez was found dead, Peruvian newspaper El Comercio reports, in a hotel room registered under van der Sloot’s name. According to police reports, Ramirez had been brutally stabbed and was found wrapped in a blanket in a pool of blood.

Chief of detectives Col. Miguel Canlla says that Stephany was murdered on Sunday, and the girl’s father, Ricardo Flores, says van der Sloot appears with his daughter in video taken at a Lima casino early Sunday. (Read More).

BP leak may be capped by Christmas.  BP Plc’s failure since April to plug a Gulf of Mexico oil leak has prompted forecasts the crude may continue gushing into December in what President Barack Obama has called the greatest environmental disaster in U.S. history.

BP’s attempts so far to cap the well and plug the leak on the seabed a mile below the surface haven’t worked, while the start of the Atlantic hurricane season this week indicates storms in the Gulf may disrupt other efforts.

“The worst-case scenario is Christmas time,” Dan Pickering, the head of research at energy investor Tudor Pickering Holt & Co. in Houston, said. “This process is teaching us to be skeptical of deadlines.”

Ending the year with a still-gushing well would mean about 4 million barrels of oil spilled into the Gulf, based on the government’s current estimate of 12,000 to 19,000 barrels leaking a day. That would wipe out marine life deep at sea near the leak and elsewhere in the Gulf, and along hundreds of miles of coastline, said Harry Roberts, a professor of Coastal Studies at Louisiana State University. If a tranny starts life as a man, gets implants and lives as a woman..Can he/she go topless on the beach?  REHOBOTH BEACH, Delaware – Rehoboth Beach lifeguards requested police assistance late Saturday afternoon for a situation involving a group of transgender men who had their breasts exposed according to a report by the Rehoboth Weekend Update.  The on-line publication reported that the incident happened by the surf near Queen Street around 4:45 p.m.  The report says that a lifeguard reported having an ‘odd problem’ involving ‘girls’ on the beach with their tops off.  Over the radio the lifeguard reported that the male individuals claimed to be transgender and claimed they did not have to wear tops.

The incident was reported to a passing police officer.  The beach patrol and police officer insisted the group was not in compliance with city ordinances.  According to the Update, a police source told them at least two of the men appeared to have breast implants.  The incident was resolved when the beach patrol and several police officers convinced the men to cover their breasts.  No arrests were made or citations issued.   (Read More).
