Wearing glasses to protect his eyes from the change in light, Yanez ran towards his loved ones and engaged in a long embrace with his wife. He then went to hug his two daughters, the youngest who was crying and rubbing her father’s back. He held his daughters as he went and thanked each rescuer one at a time.

Freaky Mexican Pirate story gets even weirder.  The lead Mexican investigator in the Falcon Lake case, Rolando Armando Flores Villegas, has been killed, his severed head delivered Tuesday in a suitcase to the Mexican military, officials told CNN.

“His head was delivered to the army garrison this morning in a suitcase after he failed to report back home last night,” Zapata County, Texas, Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez Jr. said.

A spokesman for the attorney general of Tamaulipas state in Mexico, Ruben Dario-Rios, confirmed the killing Tuesday afternoon in a telephone interview.

The report came a day after authorities in the Tamaulipas state attorney general’s office gave conflicting information on whether authorities were pursuing a pair of suspects in the case of David Michael Hartley’s disappearance.  (Read More).

Favre reportedly spoke to the team during a morning meeting in preparation for the Vikings’ Monday Night Football game against the Jets.

A source familiar with the NFL’s review of the case told ESPN Monday that the league was aggressively investigating the allegations.

Deadspin.com, a sports news website, first published the racy photos and messages in a two-minute video montage Thursday.

The voicemails include a man’s voice attempting to proposition Sterger, a former Jets sideline reporter and Maxim model who now hosts “The Daily Line” on cable channel Versus.
Deadspin also posted purported MySpace messages from Favre to the 26-year-old Sterger, and alleged that Jets media relations manager Jared Winley facilitated contact between the two.

The Minnesota Vikings quarterback, who played for the Jets in 2008, refused to comment on the allegations during Thursday’s team press conference saying, “I’m not getting into that. I’ve got my hands full with the Jets.”

MTV gets 11million viewers for Ga Ga’s meat dress.

MTV, owned by Viacom, said on Monday that 11.4 million people watched Sunday’s live performance and awards ceremony from Los Angeles, where Lady Gaga took home eight prizes and set tongues wagging by wearing a dress made of raw meat.

MTV said it was the biggest telecast for the network since the 2002 Video Music Awards.

Canadian teen idol Justin Bieber, 16, proved to be another big draw and took home the best new artist award after performing before hundreds of screaming young girls.

MTV said the 12-34 year-old audience was up 33 percent from 2009.

Women wants worlds largest breast implants removed (30 M).   Sheyla Hershey’s fight to save her M cup breast implants came to an end Thursday, as she underwent surgery in Richmond, Tex., to have them removed, myFOXhouston.com reported.

Hershey — who was trying to achieve fame for having the largest breasts in the world and has had over 30 plastic surgeries — was plagued by severe infections and high fevers after her most recent implant surgery in Brazil in June 2010.

Because implants as large as Hershey’s are illegal in the U.S., the Brazilian-born Houston, Tex., resident went to her home country earlier this year for the surgery.

But after the operation, Hershey became seriously ill and has since been closely monitored by a cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Ron Bucek, and an infectious disease expert, Dr. Shazia Gill, in Texas.  (Read More).

Coppell Mayor kills daughter then self in apparent murder/suicide.  Police in Coppell, Texas, say the town’s mayor, Jayne Peters, shot and killed her 19-year-old daughter Tuesday evening before turning the gun on herself.

The apparent murder-suicide was discovered Tuesday when authorities went to Peters’ home after the mayor did not show up for a city meeting, Fox News reported.

Today, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that Peters had killed herself after killing her daughter, The Associated Press said.

Corinne Peters, the mayor’s daughter, had just graduated from Coppell High School. She was to begin her freshman year at the University of Texas at Austin in the fall.

Following the 2008 death of Donald Peters — the mayor’s husband and Corinne Peters’ father — from cancer, the mother and daughter lived alone in Coppell, an affluent suburb of Dallas. (Read More).

Beavis and Butthead are back on MTV.  Beavis and Butt-head are coming back to MTV.

The New York Post’s Michael Starr reports that “Beavis and Butt-head” episodes are “in the works.”

The show, which was a hallmark of ’90s slacker culture, was canceled in 1997.

“The new series would keep Beavis and Butt-head in their perpetual high-school state, but it would be updated so that the pals — who obsessively watch music videos on a battered TV set — could lob their snarky comments at more current targets like Lady Gaga,” the Post reports. “The show’s minimalist animated style is also expected to remain intact.”  (Read More).

FCC gets bitch slapped ! A federal appeals court threw out the FCC’s rules on indecent speech Tuesday, in a big win for broadcasters that could lead to a new Supreme Court test of the government’s power to control what is said on television and radio.

A three-judge panel of the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York said the Federal Communications Commission’s indecency policies violate the First Amendment and are “unconstitutionally vague, creating a chilling effect that goes far beyond the fleeting expletives at issue here.” (Read More).

Now we gotta stop eating Guacamole and salsa!  Hot or mild, the salsa and guacamole Americans love to order in restaurants may be packing an unexpected kick, according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The dishes were blamed for one in 25 identified outbreaks of food poisoning at restaurants between 1998 and 2008—more than twice the rate of the previous decade, the CDC said. Often, the outbreaks were traced to raw hot peppers, tomatoes and cilantro—common ingredients in salsa and guacamole.

Uncooked foods, such as salsa and guacamole, are risky because there is no heat to wipe out bad bacteria, says Lisa McBeth, who supervises food safety for the Qdoba Mexican Grill chain, based in Wheat Ridge, Colo. She said the company inspects suppliers, monitors its kitchens and prohibits bare-handed contact with food. “It’s the same risk you have at home if you don’t wash your hands or if your refrigerator isn’t working properly,” Ms. McBeth said.  (Read More).
